Ovalle is the northernmost area where cherries are produced in our country; according to Odepa figures, updated to 2021, in this area there are more than 118 hectares planted with this fruit species. They are responsible, every year, for kicking off the cherry campaign with the best of the season.
Jorge Astudillo, production manager at Agrícola Valle Arriba Spa, shared with us various postcards of what the cherry orchards of Ovalle look like at this time of year, which often blend in with and blend in with large expanses of vineyards typical of the area.
