Farmers in Maule are called to register in the registry of productive damages

To date, 4,300 hectares of crops have been damaged in the region.

Farmers affected by the storms at the end of June have until July 21 to register themselves in the register of those affected by the storms at the end of June that caused considerable damage, mainly in towns on the banks of the main rivers in the region, recalled the Seremi of Agriculture, Ana Muñoz.

The land registry is applied through a unique platform, Kobotoolbox, for both INDAP and non-INDAP farmers, in the latter case, through the municipalities. It is an intra-farm affectation record that considers the area of affected crops, dead animals and beehives, the need for feed for livestock and bees, fences, wineries and greenhouses destroyed, among others.

“This registry, which is compiled through a single platform, is very important so that we can design the productive rehabilitation plan. That is why we ask you to be alert when officials pass by your properties or, if you can, to approach your INDAP area agencies, or your technical advisors or the municipal departments that are supporting the emergency in the agricultural sector.”, explained the Seremi of Agriculture Ana Muñoz.

To date, the region has registered 2,409 intra-farm damage reports out of a total of 5,867 nationwide, almost half. In the region, 4,300 hectares of crops have been damaged; 5,900 dead animals; 7,400 dead beehives and 365 kilometers of fences destroyed, among other data.
In addition to this fact sheet, CNR and INDAP are compiling a survey of off-farm damage to quantify the number of intakes, floodgates and canals destroyed or blocked. This information is compiled with the input of water user organisations, so it is important that farmers contact their water communities or canal associations.
