On September 7 at 9:00 a.m. a new seminar organized by Fedefruta will be held via Zoom; the event will feature speakers Soledad Torres and Guarequena Gutiérrez, from Legal Global Chile, and is titled: “Requirements for visas for foreign agricultural workers: Are we prepared for the 2023-24 season?
"A few days before the start of a fruit-growing campaign already challenged by the frontal systems of June, August and September, it is also pertinent to review the issue of the availability of agricultural workers, which leads to the conversation about the hiring of immigrants and foreigners for tasks, especially harvesting.", they pointed out from Fedefruta.

At the last Fruittrade 2023, Fedefruta president Jorge Valenzuela mentioned that the Migration and Foreigners Law enacted on February 12, 2022, is already obsolete for the countryside and its needs, so other available tools must be explored, such as, for example, Mercosur temporary visas, to which Chile has access.
For this reason, lawyers Soledad Torres and Guarequena Gutiérrez Silva, experts in immigration issues at Legal Global Chile Ltda., will address the doubts of fruit producers regarding these points, just as the 2023-2024 season is being planned in terms of agricultural workers.
