Last Thursday, August 29, the following seminar was held: «Water management in the orchard: a view from underground» Organized by Aquadetect, and took place at the Club de la Unión in the city of Curicó, Maule Region.
The event was attended by various experts such as Daniel Cabrera, General Manager of Aquadetect, who presented the company's geophysical soil study services, in particular the new high-resolution agricultural soil mapping service, aimed at accurately determining the variability and heterogeneity of agricultural soil in terms of limiting strata. In addition, the seminar was attended by other exhibiting companies. On behalf of OLIVES Irrigation presented Mauricio Calderón, Agricultural Coordinator for Irrigation Technology Development, who discussed topics on the use of technologies as tools to improve productivity on farms and improve energy efficiency in irrigation planning. And from the company from Abud and Cia, its Technical Manager Raimundo Cuevas, gave a talk on the key aspects of field management and a roadmap for developing a successful fruit project.
In the last block of the seminar on Water Management, the experts discussed in a panel of questions open to the public some of the limitations that producers have to adopt new technologies and about relevant aspects of the current agricultural situation such as the presence of La Niña and the need to obtain large-caliber fruit due to the demand from Asian markets.
Around 60 people participated in last Thursday's event, mainly producers and actors in the agricultural world of the Maule Region, who, in addition to listening to and participating in the talks, took home a magazine with a special edition on irrigation as a souvenir.
