Our correspondent team in China contacted the ports of Nansha and Yantian to confirm that their facilities are operating normally during the New Year holiday (January 1).
Richard Cai, Commercial Officer of Yantian Port, confirmed that both the terminal and customs at the port continued to operate during the holiday. He added that the Yantian terminal operates non-stop throughout the year, including during the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) holiday.

In the same context, Candy Liu, also from the port's commercial team, added that the operation is always 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
As for the port of Nansha, it was confirmed that it also operates 24 hours a day and that customs continued its operations during these 3 days of holidays. From this port it was also possible to obtain images of the arrival of the ship Caroline Maersk.
Between 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, the day the ship arrived, the cold storage facility completed the inspection of more than 80 containers. In addition, they have the capacity to inspect 120 containers in this warehouse during one day, plus an additional 100 in a warehouse adjacent to the terminal, a volume that can be dispatched to the wholesale market during the same day.
