Tens of thousands of travellers were seen at border controls between Hong Kong and mainland China to reunite with their families or for work reasons.

Also, China Southern Airlines flight CZ312 from Toronto to Guangzhou landed at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 00:16 on January 8. Passengers on this flight were the first batch of inbound travelers who did not need to undergo PCR testing or quarantine measures, which had not happened for more than 3 years.
