A milestone of great relevance, which was exclusively announced to Smartcherry during the live broadcast of the preview of the seminar on premium cherries, is the imminent installation of a cherry processing line in Ovalle.
Our Smartcherry team is based in the city of Ovalle to cover all the details of the second Ovalle Primores Cherries Seminar, organized by the Susttex consultancy.
In this context, our journalist Sebastián Miño spoke with Aldo Morales, General Manager of Susttex, about what will be the second version of this interesting event that will feature relevant exhibitors.
«We are just a few hours away from starting two days that we know are going to be super exhausting; for two months the team has been putting in all possible effort so that tomorrow we have an enriching activity, we have a varied number of exhibitors, we know that the topics we want to address are of great interest to companies and also to those people who are interested in planting cherries here in the area, "So we think it will be a very entertaining day," said Aldo Morales.
The organization expects 250 people to attend the event each day, which will be held in the Huamalata hall at Ovalle Casino&Resort. Attendees will be able to participate in different presentations, starting with the presentation by the Production Manager of Agroindustrial Valle Arriba and organizer of the seminar, Jorge Astudillo.
«Finally, this is gaining momentum. When I started 7 years ago, I had no idea about cherry management. Now I know a little more, but at least now I can have information that I believe is the most valuable thing regarding how all these milestones and challenges that one sets for oneself professionally are being built, but which the industry also needs. What happened in Mendoza (early cherry seminar) was an approach and now, obviously, I come with more precise information and focused on the data that we have been building with specific information from this area and we hope that people like it.», said Jorge Astudillo.
Astudillo's presentation will be titled "Expectation vs. Reality" and will address the challenge of cherry production in northern Chile.
Other notable exhibitors include:
