There is only one month left until the 48th World Congress of Apiculture, Apimondia Chile 2023, which will take place from September 4 to 8 at the Espacio Riesco events center and where thousands of people and beekeepers from more than 120 countries will participate.
Misael Cuevas is President of the National Beekeeping Network and president of the National Organizing Committee of Apimondia Chile 2023, he points out that “We are happy and ready to welcome thousands of participants, including scientists, beekeepers, businessmen and authorities from around the world to take part in this international event that will give us the unique opportunity to learn about the advances in beekeeping, technology, the environment and food safety, so we look forward to seeing you at this event that will be in the country for the first time.”

The event will take place from September 4 to 8 at the Espacio Riesco convention center in Santiago and is sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Indap, ProChile, the Foundation for Agrarian Innovation (FIA), the Institute for Agricultural Research (INIA), the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), Sernatur, IICA Chile, together with Agroapicultura, Apicuality, Mieles del Sur and the National Beekeeping Network.
It should be noted that in Chile today there are 10,504 beekeepers who own 1,404,214 hives. Of this universe, 88.86% corresponds to small producers with less than 300 hives each, 8.25% medium producers with between 300 and 799 hives, 2.0% large producers with between 800 and 1,500 hives and 0.89% very large producers with over 1,500 hives.
