Kilimo renews the proposal of the Irrigation Academy and opens a live consultation

Kilimo's Irrigation Academy is celebrating its second year of offering virtual training to irrigated producers throughout Latin America and is celebrating by renewing its proposal. In September, it launched the “Irrigation Consultancy: Kilimo Responds,” an interactive space for solving challenges related to irrigation.

The Irrigation Academy is the free platform for irrigated farmers created by the Argentine company Kilimo. It began its journey in 2020 during the pandemic and in September it will celebrate its second year. To date, it has trained more than 80 thousand producers and agricultural managers or irrigation managers in good practices, technologies and agricultural management around technical irrigation. To celebrate this milestone, the Irrigation Academy launched in September the “Irrigation Consultation: Kilimo Responds”, a space to solve the problems of irrigated producers in an agile way and with concrete actionable guidelines.

An expert and 30 minutes to solve an irrigation problem

The new space has an interactive focus and is based on real queries from irrigating producers, which will be answered by a team of five Kilimo irrigation experts who will be in charge of the activity. The idea of a consulting room came from the Academy's own community, which sends its queries in the webinars and via email.

Producers who want to participate in the virtual meetings can register on the Irrigation Academy website by completing a form with their details and their query. Kilimo's team of Irrigation experts will select one of them to respond live on the third Thursday of each month.

Producers whose question has been selected will be able to participate in the event as guest panelists. “We are excited to be able to approach producers with concrete solutions. Many doubts are common in the different countries in which we monitor and we are sure that those who participate will come out enriched,” said Camila Zalazar, Agronomis Manager of Kilimo and one of the experts who will respond at the Irrigation Clinic: Kilimo Responds.

“We know that despite the drought, in order to produce food we cannot stop irrigating, but it is possible to be more efficient and have a positive impact on local ecosystems. From Kilimo and from the Irrigation Academy we want to be the space that farmers turn to when challenges become a problem,” said Jairo Trad, CEO and Cofounder of Kilimo.

In addition to the new offering, in 2022 the Irrigation Academy will continue with a packed agenda of webinars bringing together experts from all over Latin America.
