Yara Chile announced a new digital sales channel for farmers and distributors


For several years now, technology has been promising a great change in the purchase and sale of different products and services, and it was undoubtedly the pandemic that provided the impetus that was needed to make the digitalization of these tasks a reality.

On the other hand, national farmers lead the statistics for the adoption of technological tools in Latin America; according to a study carried out by Yara, more than 65% of them, equivalent to about 200,000 farmers, are digitally active; this represents a figure 4 times higher than that of other countries in the region.

“That is why we decided to evolve our way of selling fertilizers and take advantage of a new platform, so that customers can purchase them from anywhere and save time, increase the productivity of their crops and be able to spend time with their families. It should be noted that the e-commerce system in Chile 2020 was developed by the consulting firm, expert in e-commerce, BlackSip. Since March 2020 to date, the number of digital buyers has doubled and sales have grown by over 200 percent.

In addition, according to Blacksip's report, the number of users in the regions who purchased products online grew from 54 to 79 percent, and it is expected that this figure will continue to rise.
