“Being on this platform will give us the added value of showing what we do,” said the company manager.

Our supplier portal continues to grow; Vadpagro, a company that was born to provide solutions to problems of climatic stress and its consequences of physiological stress, joins our platform.
The company was founded by Víctor Donoso together with his wife Carol Gómez in April 2021 and is dedicated to the commercialization of agricultural inputs, with an emphasis on the prevention of damage caused by climatic and physiological stress, as well as products for plant nutrition.
“Today, climate stress must be understood as a real problem that affects agricultural producers in terms of quality and quantity, and we must provide the tools to somehow reduce this damage through preventive and advance programs to reduce this loss, and also to provide important information, which is the weather forecast.”, Victor Donoso pointed out.
Likewise, and according to the experience of the manager and founder of Vadpagro - who held positions in various companies in the agricultural world for just over 20 years, based in Ecuador - he asserted that what motivated him to create this SME was that he realized that climate stress, despite generating so many problems, producers do not have an established budget for it, as they do for other areas of production.
“We have a small product portfolio, but with validated and proven results, and most of them are environmentally friendly, since they are zero-waste products, in addition to interesting services, which are basically related to some preventive and anticipated programs to reduce frost and cold problems; we do this starting in mid-July, in areas from the Fifth Region, Metropolitan and Sixth, where the cherry season starts earlier. Some seedlings lose dormancy, starting in mid-July, then, once the plant wakes up, it begins to produce a lot of new tissue that is born unacclimated to a low temperature or cold condition; that is where we bet, because from that moment the initial hidden damage begins.”, explained the Founder and Manager of Vadpagro.
Asked about the products or services offered by the company for cherry production, Victor Donoso said: “We have a proven and validated homogenizing product from Spain. This product is called Poseidon, which is applied 7 days after cyanamide, at a rate of 30 liters per hectare. We also have a state-of-the-art product, which is a liquid sunscreen, called Equi-Sun, with a 30-day permanence. As its label says, it is a sunscreen with anti-cracking properties, which also has the credentials of research and development by the Faculty of Biochemistry at the University of Barcelona, plus the chemical company Deygest from Spain, which produces and markets it worldwide, which makes it a proven and very noble product.”.
Regarding Vadpagro's comparative advantages, its founder and manager was emphatic in highlighting the effectiveness of its products and the competitiveness of its prices.
“First, the products work… and second, the cost. We are a small business, so we have a much lower operating cost, which allows us to be more competitive in terms of price. The programs are designed and customized for each of our clients and work to prevent frost and cold damage, cracking, sunstroke and the protection of bud differentiation in post-harvest cherry trees, among others. We are also very on top of it, because personally, I don’t like to see a producer once a season and then see them again the following year. We are with them and we follow up, since as our slogan says, we are ‘Planting Confidence’.”", Donoso explained.
Finally, Víctor Donoso, manager and founder of Vadpagro, referred to the relevance of being part of our platform.
“I think it is a platform that provides very relevant and important topics in the context, and the most important thing is that this does not only reach the cherry producer, but it also affects the rest of the other species. They are an excellent platform. People believe you because of your content, and it is also very well explained and that will give us added value in showing what we do.”, Donoso concluded.
