All set for Cherry Tech: the countdown has begun

June 29 at Sun Monticello.

There are only a few hours left until the official start of the largest technical event on cherry production and at the Sun Monticello Conference Center everything is already set and ready for the great event organized by Yentzen Group and Smartcherry.

The main hall already has all the infrastructure, lighting, stage and screens necessary to receive the attendees who will participate in the three master classes given by renowned advisors Carlos Tapia, Jordi Casas and Walter Masman.

“We are very happy, very motivated, we expect a great participation from the public; it far exceeded our expectations in terms of demand for interest, we have full capacity; unfortunately we cannot accommodate all the people who would like to participate, so that motivates us, probably, for a new 2.0 version in 2024. We hope that this will be a great success, the programming is very entertaining, the format is different, more relaxed, which will also allow us to share with the attendees, so we look forward to all those who are registered as participants and that it will be a great success for the cherry industry”, said Carlos Tapia, a specialist advisor on cherry production and co-founder of Smartcherry.

Cherry Tech will start at 8:00 in the morning with the accreditation, and then at 9:00 a.m. will give the welcome speech by Gustavo Yentzen, CEO of Yentzen Group and host of the event.

“Yentzen Group is proud to work with Smart cherry to develop this Cherry Tech. Being able to bring together leading cherry experts, together with national producers, allows us to make a contribution to the development of our industry,” Gustavo Yentzen said.

At 9:30 a.m. the first masterclass will begin, led by the founder and Technical Director of Avium, Carlos Tapia. This will be followed by the first of three forums, whose theme is “Post-harvest: Key points and management experience to avoid fruit deterioration”, and which will be moderated by the Advisor and Consultant in deciduous fruit trees, founder and Technical Director of Caducos SpA, Jordi Casas.

The second masterclass will be given by Walter Masman, Technical Advisor and Consultant, specialist in stone fruit and cherry production, who will also be in charge of moderating the second forum: “Classic varieties and new varieties: Are we prepared for the change?”

Finally, during the afternoon session, attendees will be able to participate in the third masterclass led by the Advisor and Consultant in deciduous fruit trees, founder and Technical Director of Caducos SpA, Jordi Casas; then, the last discussion of the day will take place, moderated by Carlos Tapia, and which will have as its theme: “Calcium and Potassium: their fundamental role in the productive potential, quality and condition of the fruit.”

International participation

For several weeks now, Cherry Tech has been fully booked; among the attendees there is a large Argentine delegation made up of 41 people, including cherry producers, exporters, state entities, among others, who are on a technical tour of central Chile and who have considered participation in Cherry Tech 2023 as the main activity of their trip.

“It is an interesting way to close the tour, because the members of the delegation will not only be able to listen to and participate in the interesting interventions that colleagues will have and the important topics that will be addressed, but they will also be able to articulate and generate relationships with technology suppliers, of specific inputs for cherry production; this is very important because Chile is a world reference for the cherry industry,” said Aníbal Caminiti, Manager of the Argentine Chamber of Integrated Cherry Producers.

Cherry Tech will also have a specially designed area for the exhibition of scientific posters, which will be presented in digital format, on totems arranged for this purpose; an open space to democratize information.
