The aim of the visit by the trade association was to explore business opportunities and see the progress being made in the irrigation sector, as well as to analyse options for implementing Chilean irrigation technologies in the Californian market.

During a visit to California to explore business opportunities, representatives of the Irrigation and Drainage Association (AGRyD) met with Wiseconn executives in that North American city to learn about the impact that the firm's technology has had on the fields in that area of the United States.

The group from the trade association also visited the North American state to learn about the advances in the agricultural sector in relation to irrigation. The trip was part of a commercial and technological prospecting mission with the support and collaboration of ProChile.

According to José Miguel Morán, general manager of Agryd, “participation in the Trade Mission to California offers a crucial opportunity for the industry.” Morán underlines the importance “of learning about the innovative practices implemented by several of Agryd’s partners, both nationally and internationally. In this sense, the application of innovation and technological development in various fields is fundamental.” He also highlights that the experience shared by these farmers will be vital to promote effective use of water and irrigation systems among their peers.

One of Agryd's partners, Claudia Pizarro, highlighted what Wiseconn has achieved in recent years in the United States. "They have raised the name of Chile and in California, no less, they are an undisputed reference." She added that "it was an honor to measure on the ground the tremendous contribution to the development of agriculture in the world."

The objective of the mission was to explore and evaluate the opportunities to introduce Chilean irrigation technologies in the Californian market, as well as to gain knowledge about advances in the design and installation of irrigation systems. In addition, the mission sought to establish strategic alliances with key players in the sector in that state.

For Guillermo Valenzuela, president of Wiseconn USA, the visit of the Agryd representatives “is of great importance for our company. This meeting not only represents a recognition of the work we have carried out for years as a Chilean company in the United States, but also highlights the interest in sharing our valuable experience with other agricultural entrepreneurs. We seek to inspire those who perceive technology as an effective tool to efficiently optimize irrigation in the fields.”

He added that “WiseConn technology has been widely recognized in California, allowing managers to comprehensively manage irrigation systems, and has been a pioneer in facilitating and simplifying the accessibility of precision irrigation technologies.”

The delegation visited fields where it was able to experience this technology first-hand and hear the experiences of its users. In addition, the mission was able to establish contacts with important players in the irrigation sector in California, and learn about market trends and challenges first-hand.
