Rovensa, a global leader in agricultural inputs for sustainable agriculture, announces that it has completed the acquisition of MIP-Agro, a leader in zero-waste biocontrol and biostimulants in Chile.
Based in Requínoa, MIP-Agro has been a business partner of Rovensa in Chile since 2004, and a pioneer in promoting solutions for sustainable agriculture in the region, with a commercial and technical team that works closely with more than 2,500 farmers. Its focus is on high-value crops such as cherries, table grapes, blueberries, nuts and citrus fruits.
This transaction allows Rovensa to strengthen its leadership position in Latin America, particularly in Chile (the second largest export market for fruits and vegetables), allowing for cross-selling synergies with Rovensa’s broader portfolio of biosolutions.
MIP-Agro will continue to be led by the current management team and will be integrated into Rovensa's structure in the region.
Rovensa CEO Eric van Innis announces the news stating that “Both companies share a similar business culture and go-to-market approach. Over the past five years, we have expanded our global presence and strengthened our biosolutions portfolio by acquiring 10 market-leading companies. With MIP Agro, we are increasing our market presence in Chile and strengthening our strategic position in Latin America to better serve our distributors and farmers, driving a biotransformation in agriculture.”
Sebastián Jiménez, founder and CEO of MIP-Agro, added “We are very pleased to be part of Rovensa and honored to be able to contribute to its mission. By taking advantage of the group’s capabilities and synergies, we will be able to offer our clients an even broader portfolio of biosolutions for their crops.”.
Rovensa was advised by Uría Menéndez and PwC. MIP-AGRO was advised by Domínguez Godoy Abogados, ULRD Abogados and Asenjo Consultores.
With the integration of MIP-Agro, Rovensa's revenues exceed 700 million euros.
