New functionality of WiseConn's DropControl platform, NDVI Image Dashboard

The DropControl platform has incorporated new functionalities related to the visualization and analysis of images of NDVI, these allow farmers and agricultural professionals to have a better understanding of the health of their crops and make more informed decisions to improve performance.

What does NVDI mean, is it the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, is an important measure used in precision agriculture to assess crop health and vigor using aerial or satellite imagery. NDVI is calculated from the ratio of light reflected in the visible (red) spectrum to light reflected in the near infrared (NIR).

The images obtained are visualized on the DropControl platform using a combination of colors. Typically, a color scale ranging from red to green is used, where areas with high NDVI values are shown in green (more vegetation), while areas with low values are shown in red (less vegetation). This allows farmers and agricultural experts to quickly identify areas of healthy crops and areas with potential problems.

How is it displayed in DropControl?

● You can select land and sector, at a time range, in certain images.

● Compare images from different dates with a differentiated histogram

● Comparison with histogram of irrigation, soil moisture, irrigation and evapotranspiration.

● Full access to crop and image data

When interpreting the visualizations of NDVI, farmers and agricultural experts can identify problem areas, such as the presence of diseases or pests, lack of irrigation, or nutrient deficiency. This allows them to make more informed decisions about crop management, implement specific agricultural practices in areas that need it, and improve overall crop productivity.
