100L Challenge: Meeting the proposed objectives

On May 13 of this year, OLIVOS irrigation held the Socialization of the 100L Challenge, a project created within the framework of the responsible use of water, an increasingly scarce natural resource that led the company to rethink, as an organization, to radically challenge the availability of water, starting with an interesting internal project.

This is a work co-created with the 100L team, where through several collaborative instances a model was generated that through a platform allows workers to register and upload monthly water bills to enter monthly consumption and in this way monitor each participant and their families.

At this point, the Low Density Polyethylene area was highlighted for its lower water consumption; its leader shared the experience of the challenge that has allowed them to generate a culture of caring for this resource, with advice and small tips to be more efficient in its use at home and, in this way, generate a greater impact.

“For me, as the leader of the highlighted area, it was a very gratifying moment, knowing that as a team we achieved this very important objective in this great 100L challenge, which consists of reducing water consumption in our homes,” said Aladino Jara, Leader of the LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) Area.

Jara added: “The process with my team was to take measures to try to reduce water consumption in our homes, shorten shower time, dry wash the car, put a bottle in the bathroom water tank, check for leaks in the water network installations in our homes, reuse the water from the washing machine to water plants and small trees that we have at home, brush our teeth with the tap turned off and only turn it on when rinsing the toothbrush.”

The leader of the highlighted area pointed out that the most important thing was to raise awareness among family members and create awareness of the importance of saving this vital element that is water.

“The moment of my team's award ceremony was very special, everyone felt proud of having achieved the goal. We will continue to motivate the team until we achieve 100% of registrations in the area,” concluded Aladino Jara, leader of the PEBD area.

OLIVOS Irrigation expressed its gratitude for the commitment and participation of the PEBD team and stated that: “We are very happy with what has been achieved and we continue to work together to radically challenge the availability of water.”
