The innovations that AgroFresh will present at the 4th Trujillo Agricultural Network Conference, to be held on August 9 and 10, are:
SmartFresh™ SmartTabs The proven and recognized active ingredient of this technology is based on 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP), which interacts with the ethylene receptors of fruits and vegetables to help control the response to both endogenous and exogenous ethylene. This helps to “pause” the ripening process so that the fruit can ripen more slowly. In the case of avocados, the technology can extend post-harvest life, helping the fruit to reach distant destinations such as Europe, Asia, and the Middle East in better quality, in addition to helping prevent internal browning of the pulp.
VitaFresh™ Botanicals Life Select, which is a coating designed to help keep fruit fresh during post-harvest, storage and transportation to customers. A natural, plant-based product that helps create a barrier helping to reduce gas exchange and weight loss due to dehydration, keeping produce firm and fresh for longer and with its natural appearance. This new coating has received organic certification from CAAE and is included in the OMRI list.
We will also be presenting the FreshCloud™ Inspection, a data capture and digitization platform that uses aggregated data, machine learning and artificial intelligence to obtain more information and real-time analysis on the quality of fruit throughout the supply chain, facilitating strategic decision-making for customers. The AgroFresh team will be available to carry out demonstrations at the stand.
Control-Tec™, Our line of state-of-the-art equipment for process lines, for the application and dosing of post-harvest products (fungicides, sanitizers and coatings), making sustainable use of process water, humidifiers and sanitizing equipment for storage chambers. Highlighting the equipment Control-Tec™ Eco Washer, a “Smart” washing, sanitizing and rinsing shower designed especially for applications in process lines, through its pressure-controlled nozzles, which provide the correct balance of the water required in combination with the necessary products according to the speed of movement of the fruit, helping to effectively clean and sanitize them, potentially generating significant savings in water and the products used.
At the forefront and to meet customer needs, AgroFresh developed the technology Control-Tec™ Ultra Low Volume (ULV) Applicator which performs a precise and efficient application of treatments with fungicides, disinfectants and/or coatings on fruits that are sensitive to the use of water in post-harvest, for blueberries, but also for crops such as citrus, avocados, and others.
The new technology Control-Tec™ ULV Applicator allows the application of products with high coverage and low deposits, helping to reduce the risk of stains.
The droplets are released in a spray mist, using low volumes of water and products in a consistent and more sustainable way. The equipment consists of three parts; a touch screen control panel, application bar and dome. It is easy to install and adaptable to regular fruit packing processes. In addition, the AgroFresh team is available for installation and regular maintenance of the equipment.
The disinfectant BioSide HS15, which is OMRI certified for use on organics and is suitable for fruit contact wash water. This environmentally friendly sanitizer degrades rapidly, reducing waste, helping to decrease contaminants in process water treatment, and contributing to more efficient and less expensive water recycling.
