The Meteorological Office of Chile reported that a new frontal system will occur between the regions of Valparaíso and Los Ríos from the early hours of Friday, July 21; this event foresees normal to moderate rainfall between the regions of O'Higgins and Biobío, mainly in the valleys and foothills.
«In the valley sectors the estimated amounts will be between 20 to 30 mm and in the foothills sector between 30 and 40 mm; this precipitation will accumulate, mainly, between the early hours of Friday and the early hours of Saturday, this does not imply that it will not continue to precipitate the rest of Saturday."said Arnaldo Zúñiga, Meteorologist at the Meteorological Directorate of Chile.
The rains will reach the Metropolitan region on Friday night and even in the early hours of Saturday, when it could continue to rain.
"There will be a decrease in maximum temperatures that will be around 17ºC for the rest of this week, dropping on Saturday and Sunday to 12ºC and 14ºC, respectively," added the Meteorological Directorate of Chile.
As for the winds, they are expected to be in the normal to moderate range with gusts of up to 60 kilometers per hour only in the coastal sector of the Biobío region.
