The first radiative frosts of the season are present in the central area

This weather report by Vadpagro in conjunction with GlobalMet covers the period from April 20 to 30.

Since last week, we finally began to feel the thermal sensation of autumn temperatures, since in the previous weeks high temperatures were still felt especially in the central area of Chile; Autumn arrived with early frosts that begin to appear in the central valleys, from the Bio Bio
up to Valparaíso, with values of -1° to 0°C in the coldest spots.

SOUTH ZONE:The passage of a trough at high altitude will increase the potential for rainfall from Temuco to the far south on Friday, with accumulations of between 5 and 20 mm, so the rain will not be as intense.

The story will be different over the weekend, as the passage of an anticyclonic ridge will bring stable conditions, no rain and maximum temperatures between 18° and 23°C. Associated with this, there will also be morning fog at least until Monday during the early mornings and dawns.

An atmospheric river could occur between April 26 and 29, which is important to keep an eye on as it could cause significant rainfall throughout the southern part of the country, with potential accumulations of 50 to 100mm in the aforementioned period of days. There is no potential for frost due to the presence of fog and the ridge.
anticyclonic.

CENTRAL ZONE:

The first radiative frosts of the season have occurred in agricultural areas from Bio Bio to Valparaiso, due to the passage of high cold pressure.

The cold high pressure will move towards Argentina and consequently will be causing the presence of the coastal trough; which will initially cause maximum temperatures to rise to the threshold of 30°C. The coastal trough will enter the process of dissipation and with this we expect the marine layer to enter the valleys during Friday, so, after warm temperatures there will be much cooler and more humid conditions due to the fog that will be present.

The atmospheric river that will be present in the southern zone could indirectly extend to the central zone and due to this, there is a possible increase in the potential for rain between April 27 and 30. Since there are still more than 8 days left, there is still high uncertainty in this regard. The probability of entry into the southern zone is high, while for the central zone there could still be significant changes. It is important to stay alert to updates on weather forecasts.

NORTHERN ZONE (Coquimbo – Atacama):

In general, stable and warm conditions. Mornings are already showing minimum temperatures of between 4° and 6°C in agricultural areas.

The coastal trough will also have an effect in the northern area, with fog and cloudy skies expected during Thursday and Friday in coastal areas. Some weather models extend the potential atmospheric river to the Coquimbo region and this could cause an increase in the potential for rain; although for now the probability is only 10%, so it is also advisable to keep an eye on the weather forecasts in the coming days.

In summary:
-Rain in the south on Friday and possible atmospheric river before the end of April.
-High temperatures on Thursday in the central zone.
-Morning fog that could extend until before noon in the central zone on Friday.
-There is a potential atmospheric river on watch at the end of the month, which is highly probable in the southern zone, but could extend indirectly to the central zone, with the probability of increasing the potential for rainfall.

Map shows possible total rainfall accumulations in millimeters through April 30.

The previous general forecast was made by the company GlobalMet, who have the best tool for farmers, providing their clients with a personal meteorologist service, who knows their field and provides forecasts up to 30 days in advance.

Through the App to which access is provided along with the service, you can consult variables such as temperature, humidity, cloudiness, rain, wind, radiation, thermal sensation, dew point, evapotranspiration, among others, accompanied by graphics by day and time and if you need an explanation about any of the variants or information about a specific event, you will also have a WhatsApp group where the meteorologist assigned to your field will answer all your questions.

GlobalMet's job is to provide producers with accurate information on the variables that will be present at their specific point so that they can have better planning and decision making in the field, for example, during frost season it can provide information on what day it will freeze and how long it will last, thus they can better use their frost control system and apply climate stress products; all of this will be directly reflected in the producer's pocket.

Remember that the forecast for this week and the next, speaks of the presence of early frosts that begin to appear in the central valleys, from Bio Bio to Valparaiso; for these cases, prepare yourself with AGROS-3 systemic cellular penetrant, with anti-freeze effect, mobilizes nutrients and is quickly absorbed by active plant tissues, becoming part of the sap flow reaching all ends of the plant. It mobilizes calcium, boron and other salts, avoiding precipitation. It is a nutritional regulator, biostimulant, restores magnesium deficiencies, reduces osmotic adjustment and increases tissue resistance to cold, find it at Vadpagro.
