Various experts will analyse the meteorological and hydrological situation and its projection for the coming autumn-winter months, as well as preventive measures and practices against winter frosts.
In order to analyze the climatic situation in perspective for the fall-winter season 2024 and thus be better prepared for what awaits the forestry and agricultural sector, a new "Seasonal Agroclimatic Panorama" will be held on Wednesday, June 12, a virtual meeting organized by the Unit of
Agricultural Disaster Risk Management (UGRA), of the Undersecretariat of Agriculture of Minagri.
This activity is called: “Information for action: What to do in the face of winter frosts?” and seeks to provide information that allows for better preparation for the agroclimatic situation, in addition to preventive measures and practices against winter frosts for different sectors of the sector.
The meeting will take place between 10:30 and 12:30 online and will be free of charge for all participants.
10 years of “Panoramas”
The “Seasonal Agroclimatic Panorama” is a training and analysis event that has been held twice a year since 2014 and has contributed to strengthening professional capacities related to risk management and adaptation to climate variability and change.
Roberto Leal Zaldívar, head of the UGRA, explains that the most important thing about this virtual meeting is to analyze the season, the projection for the coming months and possible threats, also analyzing preventive measures and practices for agriculture. He highlights the importance of integrating risk management, especially in its preventive dimension, in order to build resilience against threats and
other events in the forestry and agricultural sector.
For her part, the Seremi of Agriculture of Maule, Claudia Ramos, invited the regional community to participate in this event, recalling that “technical training is very important to organize field activities in the fall-winter period, and at the same time foresee solutions to possible climatic threats. It is a virtual meeting taking advantage of the benefits of online platforms.”
