Aquadetect announces participation in the European Geosciences Union (EGU)

Daniel Cabrera, commercial manager of Aquadetect, will give a presentation at the congress.

Aquadetect is a leading technology company for the exploration and use of groundwater, and has announced its participation in the European Geosciences Union, one of the most important events in the field of geosciences.

The Chilean company, led by its commercial manager, Daniel Cabrera, hopes that its presentation will have a great impact on the use of water for irrigation around the world.

Agrogeophysics is an emerging discipline since approximately 2020 in Belgium, and deals with the use of applied geophysics to study and support agricultural work such as irrigation management and monitoring, sectorization of irrigation systems, among others. At Aquadetect we have made progress in this line since 2020, with our own projects and those supported by the Foundation for Agrarian Innovation (FIA), on sectorization of irrigation systems, which is why we decided to participate this year to share experiences with other scientists and learn about new technologies that can be applied from applied geophysics to support the development and growth of agriculture in Chile.“Cabrera said.

The professional also added that: “The work we sent this year to the EGU consists of the validation of a new service that we have developed in the company. This consists of a new system to sectorize irrigation systems considering soil variability in high resolution, where the aim is to increase water productivity and improve productive heterogeneity. We did this validation in the INIA SmartField field with the support of FIA, as part of a validation mentoring sponsored by ECLAC-EU-OECD, IRTA of Spain and INIA, where our technical mentor was Stanley Best.”.

It is worth mentioning that the work that Aquadetect will present at the EGU, in addition to being a scientific publication, is an innovation that seeks to impact the use of water in agriculture.

In addition to presenting its technology, Aquadetect will also have the opportunity to connect with other leaders in the field of geosciences and explore new opportunities for collaboration and technology development in Chile.
