Maintenance and upgrade season: Boosting efficiency in agriculture with HappyAgro

At the forefront of technological innovation in the agroindustry, HappyAgro, a Chilean company dedicated to the manufacturing, development and marketing of FirmPro from Chile to the world, tells us about one of its main services at this time of year: a complete maintenance and update program for its measuring equipment.

According to HappyAgro CEO Robinson Gálvez, “we seek to provide a complete service that covers the entire year and during the winter season, the industry must be preparing for the next season. For our part, during this time we carry out preventive maintenance of the equipment, which not only seeks to keep the devices in optimal conditions, but also to optimize their performance with the latest available updates, in order to make their operation more efficient and add new functionalities.”

The plan offered by HappyAgro is complete. It includes everything from internal and external cleaning of the various components, lubrication of the measuring instruments, to updating the firmware and software. In addition, repairs or replacements of obsolete parts are offered, as well as calibration of the equipment, guaranteeing its precision and delivering a Calibration Certificate. A highlight of the maintenance service is that it includes remote assistance throughout the season after contracting the plan, ensuring continuous support for customers.

Johan Parraguez, Post-Harvest Reception Manager at the Giddings Cerasus Exporter, a client since 2022, highlights this after-sales service. “They provide us with support and are at the service of any needs or questions we have throughout the entire production stage. We have never had a problem with the equipment, it has worked at 100% during the two seasons. In the recent season we had 116 continuous days of fruit reception, using HappyAgro equipment for 10 continuous hours every day. During one of the two dates they schedule, we send the equipment for maintenance. Now we have the three pieces of equipment under maintenance in Santiago, once this is done and they send us the certificates, we verify them and we are ready.”

HappyAgro offers its clients two maintenance dates. The first is carried out in the months of May and June and the second is carried out between August and September. The estimated duration of the maintenance ranges between 30 and 45 days. In addition, pick-up and delivery routes are offered between the Valparaíso region and the Ñuble region, facilitating logistics for clients.

Maintenance prices vary depending on the year of purchase of the equipment. Equipment purchased in 2023 is covered at no additional cost, thanks to the warranty offered by the company. For those purchased before 2023, rates apply according to a table that takes into account the number of equipment to be maintained. In order to ensure the quality and reliability of its services, HappyAgro offers a one-year warranty for the equipment and its software from the date of maintenance. However, it is important to note that certain causes of failure, such as damage due to exposure to moisture or misuse of the equipment, are not covered by the warranty.

Additionally, Johan highlights the great overall experience they have had since they acquired the equipment. “After several comparisons with other firmness and caliber measurement equipment, the decision was made to acquire three complete units with the HappyAgro colorimeter included. The equipment provides very reliable data, almost 0 deviation between one measurement and another, they are easy to verify, and they have helped us deliver fast and reliable data to producers.”

“As an exporter and plant, we have a time frame to send the reception data. Previously, it was done manually and it took a long time. Now, by doing it simultaneously, firmness, caliber and color, it makes it easier for us and helps us to be efficient. With one person and three FirmPros, we are efficient with resources and labor, which is now in high demand,” Parraguez indicated.

He also added, “For example, before we had FirmPro equipment, we were delivering information to producers in 2 hours on only 50% of our received fruit; with the equipment, this season we have reached 80,39%, so we are happy. They are very reliable equipment.”

HappyAgro's commitment to excellence extends beyond Chile's borders. The company's CEO highlighted that in Peru, they will soon be carrying out maintenance on FirmPro equipment for the third consecutive year in that country. "On this occasion, we will maintain more than 20 units in collaboration with our client Agrovision, demonstrating our commitment to quality and efficiency throughout the region."

With this maintenance and update service, HappyAgro reaffirms its position as a leader in technological innovation in the agroindustry of the region, giving its clients the peace of mind of having state-of-the-art equipment in optimal operating conditions.
