Patagonia Biotechnology and Martínez y Valdivieso sign a distribution agreement for FERTUM®

Patagonia Biotechnology (PatBio), a leading national company in innovative agronomic solutions based on Patagonian algae extracts, signs a distribution agreement with Martínez y Valdivieso (M&V), a leading distributor of agricultural products.

Rebeca Gálvez, CEO of PatBio and renowned Endeavor entrepreneur, highlighted the importance of this alliance: “We have strategically sought the best distribution option that aligns with our commitment to quality and sustainability. Our collaboration with M&V represents a significant step towards our vision of expanding the marketing of FERTUM® and firmly positioning ourselves as the leader in algae extracts in Chile.”

For his part, Alfonso Besa, Marketing and Development Manager at M&V, expressed his enthusiasm for the addition of FERTUM® to its product portfolio: “At Martínez y Valdivieso, we had identified FERTUM® as a line of high-quality products with a very attractive projection that we wanted to incorporate into our offering. The FERTUM® product range is backed by decades of research and development and has a distinctive seal of sustainability.”

PatBio, located near Puerto Montt, with a track record of more than two decades in research and development, has gained recognition for its innovative approach to soil care through the use of biofertilizers based on extracts of 4 algae from southern Chile.

FERTUM®’s line of biostimulants and nutritional inputs improves crop resilience against various forms of stress, simultaneously enhancing nutrient uptake, productivity and quality. FERTUM® offers a diverse range of products, including an exclusive selection of algae-derived 100% biostimulants and a series of formulations that integrate different essential nutrients based on algae. This unique combination promotes more efficient nutritional absorption, highlighting FERTUM®’s commitment to more sustainable agriculture and optimal crop performance.

From a sustainability perspective, the company is distinguished by its B Company certification, a seal that is only awarded to companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and responsibility. The company has its own algae farms that, in addition to allowing it timely access to top-quality raw materials, aims to migrate towards an even more sustainable and regenerative resource extraction model.

The alliance between PatBio and M&V represents an important milestone in the Chilean agricultural sector, joining forces to offer effective, quality and sustainable products that contribute to caring for the environment and developing a more resilient and productive agriculture.
