Spring rains and their risks to high-value crop production

It is known that spring rains bring with them significant risks in fruit production, causing everything from rotting to cracking.

This issue generates greater impact the closer we are to the harvest. The resistance of the fruit's cell wall plays an important role in mitigating the two problems mentioned and consequently nutrition with Calcium and Boron, fundamental elements for the structural stability of the cell wall and membrane, becomes relevant from the point of view of prevention.

At Yara we have a portfolio that can support the supply of these two nutrients with the best quality to guarantee their assimilation without generating environmental impact: YaraTera CALCINIT o YaraTera CALCINIT B: applied through fertigation systems, as well as foliar application nutritional solutions such as:  YaraVita STOPIT Applied to the fruit, our recommendation for cherry is to make regular applications of 5 to 10 l/ha at intervals of 7 to 14 days, from petal fall until one week before the start of the harvest, minimum water volume: 150 l/ha. Our foliar portfolio also includes YaraVita CALTRAC the most concentrated foliar source of calcium on the market, which is also enriched with nitrogen, boron and zinc, which is recommended to be applied to cherry trees at doses of 3-5 l/ha at intervals of 7 to 14 days from petal fall in a minimum water volume of 500 lt/ha, taking into account applying it only up to 6 weeks before harvest. As a great contribution to producers when making decisions to mitigate the impact of these climatic situations.

Yara Tera CALCINIT, soluble calcium nitrate with production traceability and lower carbon footprint. The YaraVita portfolio to take your crops to the next level, with application benefits and higher concentrations for fewer applications per crop cycle.

What a great partner Yara is!
