A new frontal system is expected this weekend in the central part of the country; the Agroclimatologist and professor at Citra of the University of Talca, Patricio González, referred to the characteristics of this climatic event: «According to the predictive models, on May 21, in the Curicó area, it should start raining on Sunday 21 at 11:00 in the morning and end on Monday 22 approximately between 11 and 12 noon».

On May 21, 22 millimeters of precipitation is expected, with a 90 percent chance that the forecast will come true.
"(It will rain on the 21st) with a minimum of 8ºC and a maximum of 12ºC; on Monday, according to probabilistic models, there should be 7.9 mm of precipitation, almost 8 mm, with a minimum of 8ºC and a maximum of 15ºC", explained the Agroclimatologist.
There is a high probability that this frontal system will reactivate on Tuesday, May 23; there is a 60% probability that this will happen and that it will precipitate 11 mm in the Curicó area, with a minimum of 7ºC and a maximum of 12ºC.
«This frontal system should record rains approximately from 11 pm on Monday 22nd until 8 pm on Tuesday 23rd; and on Wednesday 24th there is a low probability, some showers will occur, approximately 2 mm, very weak showers in the afternoon on Wednesday.", said Patricio Gonzalez.
According to the specialist, this is a low rainfall compared to what is expected to occur during the month of May. The frontal system is expected to leave, in addition to rain, a few centimetres of snow in the mountain range.
