Increase the productive potential of your next season
For the development and productive potential of the cherry tree, the integrity of the plant in the post-harvest period is important. For this reason, we carried out a study with the support of AVIUM, applying our Rooting product at this stage.
In the words of Carlos Tapia: “When we refer to orchards in full production and above all with a high productive potential recognized in the season, we must support their process with the Incorporation of agents that enhance root recovery, since it will be the support for a large part of the carbon and nitrogen reserves at the beginning of the season.
The specific agents that help in this specific process are recognized as Rooting agents; which must necessarily contain growth regulators in their composition, mainly auxins (indolbutyric acid) who provide a direct signal to further enhance the creation of new roots and their sustained development.
In research carried out in Chile in recent seasons, it is recognized that the use of this type of compounds at this time, enhances the development of roots and the generation of new growth points. Although the accumulation of carbon (starch) and nitrogen reserves does not always represent a change in their concentration, with greater development of the root system, measured in weight, it can be said that there is a greater quantity of this type of reserves in plants.

Results of Rooting trials with the Rosario Studies Center (CER)
Post-harvest application for greater accumulation of reserves
During the post-harvest of cherries in 2018, a trial with Rooting was carried out at the Rosario Evaluation Center (CER) where from one to three applications of the product were evaluated in comparison with an absolute control and a commercial control, in order to evaluate its effect on the development of roots and the accumulation of reserves in cherry (Prunus avium L.) var. Bing.
The results show that rooting applications help to increase the tree's reserves, which are much needed for the initial growth of the following year's shoots:
TREATMENTS:
TIME OF APPLICATION:
Peak emission and growth of new roots
ROOT SURFACE RESULTS
Rooting achieved greater surface coverage in square centimeters with one application (94%), two applications (67%) and three superior applications (74%) to the absolute control and the commercial control that achieved only 48% additional surface than the absolute control. This demonstrates that applications with Rooting They have a greater capacity to generate root branches and therefore greater soil exploration.
RESULTS ARGININE CONTENT
Rooting With a single application, it achieved an increase of 29% in the arginine content with respect to the absolute control, compared to a 15% increase with two applications and a 9% increase with 3 applications, even surpassing the commercial control that achieved a 24% increase in the arginine content. These results confirm the capacity of Rooting to enhance the reserves of cherry trees necessary for the initial growth of the following season's budding.
CONCLUSIONS
Number of roots:
Rooting With an application of 3 liters per hectare in the month of March, the surface area and branching of roots increased by 94% compared to the absolute control and an increase of 30% compared to the commercial control.
Amount of Arginine:
Rooting With an application of 3 liters per hectare in the month of March, the arginine content increased by 29% compared to the absolute control and by 3.5% compared to the commercial control.
