The first equipment in the Control-Tec™ line that was developed at the AgroFresh innovation center in Rancagua.
AgroFresh's Control-Tec™ line of equipment is already benefiting fruit packaging in Chile and around the world, contributing to improving the efficiency of post-harvest treatment applications, mainly due to the sustainability of Control-Tec™ technologies that help reduce water consumption in processes.
Four months after the inauguration of the AgroFresh Innovation Center in Rancagua, the first advances have already reached the market, with the development of new Control-Tec™ equipment, technology driven and led from Chile, combined with the expertise of Spain, the Control-Tec™ Ultra Low Volume (ULV) Applicator has emerged, which will be presented at FruitTrade on October 12 and 13.
At the forefront and to meet customer needs, AgroFresh developed the Control-Tec™ Ultra Low Volume Applicator that contributes to the precise and efficient application of fungicide treatments, disinfectants or coatings to fruits that are sensitive to water use in post-harvest, such as blueberries and raspberries, but also for crops such as apples and others.
New Control-Tec™ Applicator ULV technology enables application of products with high coverage and low deposits helping to reduce the risk of staining.
The droplets are released in a low volume spray mist in a consistent manner and uses low volume of water, which is also more sustainable. The equipment consists of three parts; a touch screen control panel, application bar and dome. Easy to install, it is adaptable to regular fruit packing processes. In addition, AgroFresh's team is available for installation and regular maintenance of the equipment.
“Our studies show that Control-Tec™ Applicator ULV technology has better application quality compared to electrostatic equipment.” – Claudio Moreno, R&D Director at AgroFresh.

In the photo to the side a sample of the coverage obtained by the Control-Tec Applicator ULV on water-soluble paper, with 0.25cm2 Compared to electrostatic equipment, which directly affects efficiency, as seen in the graph.
