Drosophila suzukii It is an invasive pest that affects a wide range of fruits, including cherries, strawberries, blueberries and grapes. Originally from Asia, this fly has rapidly spread to other regions of the world, causing significant problems in agriculture. In Chile it was first detected in 2014. Since then, its distribution has expanded to various regions of the country, affecting both small and large producers, mainly in the central and southern regions of Chile, including areas such as the Metropolitan Region, the O'Higgins Region, the Maule Region and the Los Lagos Region.
