A Colombian with more than 20 years of experience in the agricultural sector and in the nutrition of
crops, has assumed responsibility for leading the operation in the country since June 1.

Rodrigo Pimiento is the new Commercial Manager for Yara Chile, who has been in charge of the company's operations in the country since June 1. He is an agricultural engineer who graduated from the University of Los Llanos in Colombia and has a specialization in Business Administration from the University of Tolima in the same country.
He has more than 22 years of experience in the agricultural sector, during which time he has worked in companies such as Agromark, Dow Agrosciences, Prolub, Abonos Colombianos SA and since 2016 he has been linked to Yara, where he started as a sales manager, and then served as commercial manager for Yara Colombia. Additionally, he has studied Commercial Skills Management at the Sergio Arboleda University in the same country.
“Rodrigo has been key to building the cultivation company in Yara Colombia; his technical and commercial experience, and proximity to customers, has allowed us to grow in the market and achieve our objectives. I am convinced that his new role will continue to bring results aligned with our 2022 Business Plan and long-term business objectives,” says Andrés Useche, Commercial Director for the Andean Region.
As commercial director in Chile, Rodrigo not only assumes the responsibility of leading the team, but must also focus on contributing to the development of agriculture in the country, where production, profitability and sustainability of agricultural activity is the priority. “We will continue working to support Chilean agricultural producers and the value chain, not only with more efficient nutritional solutions for their orchards or crops and the environment, but we also have digital tools that help monitor them, and we have a whole portfolio of fertilizers for the fertigation system. Our goal is to make the field sustainable and precision agriculture is just the beginning.”, says Rodrigo Pimiento, Commercial Manager for Yara Chile.
This is how Yara Chile will continue to focus on making farmers more productive, maintaining and increasing their quality standards by optimizing nutrition models and comprehensive agricultural practices that lead them to be profitable, where the transfer of knowledge is the basis for achieving this. In this sense, the company creates different spaces for agricultural experts to support producers in adopting good agricultural practices.
“We are convinced that knowledge is the basis for agriculture to become competitive and sustainable. We must raise awareness about the efficient use of resources such as soil, water and fertilizers, which are vital for food production. We are committed to ensuring that they learn the basic concepts in the application of fertilizers such as the source, dose, time and correct place to avoid malnutrition in crops, or toxicity due to excess nutrients,” Rodrigo Pimiento confirms.
Yara has been taking action to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions, by implementing new technologies and adopting processes in the manufacturing of products. This is in addition to innovation in the development of nutritional solutions that are more efficient, to maintain the health and fertility of soils, which in turn provide the nutrients that crops require at each stage of development. The company wants to continue working to cultivate a positive food future for nature.
