Nurseries of Chile launches the Seventh international meeting Agrotrade 2022

This international meeting will be held on October 26 at the Monticello casino. It will include a convention and business roundtable. The event will feature prominent speakers, including former agriculture ministers María Emilia Undurraga and Carlos Furche.

Nurseries of Chile (AGV) officially launched the Agrotrade 2022 International Convention and Fair, an event that is making a strong comeback in its in-person format in the vicinity of Santiago and that will take place through stands, talks and discussion panels from the Monticello casino.

The activity, which will take place throughout the day, will focus on commercial and technical aspects of the new scenarios for the cultivation of fruit varieties such as cherries, European hazelnuts, table grapes, walnuts and blueberries, among others, in addition to showing the new trends in genetic improvement and crop mechanization. "We wanted to focus this seventh version of our Agrotrade on the projections of the agricultural sector, in a context marked by climate change, water scarcity and the logistics crisis, which strongly affect the global food security scenario," said the general manager of Nurseries of Chile, Maritrini Lapuente.

Indeed, this meeting will bring together important leaders and representatives of agricultural activity, and will be attended by: former Ministers of Agriculture María Emilia Undurraga (Sebastian Piñera's government) and Carlos Furche (Michelle Bachelet's government), who will participate in a discussion panel with other prominent representatives. “It will be an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, project the future of agriculture and discover the latest varietal trends to boost the growth of the sector,” says Lapuente.

In addition to these leading figures in the agricultural industry, there will be national and international exhibitors and stands, such as nurserymen, fruit producers, suppliers of inputs, services and technologies, where new genetics for fruit and vegetable growing, among others, will also be on display.

“Agrotrade will be a special occasion for our members, with top-level guests relevant to the agricultural sector. It will be a good opportunity to discuss issues that are so important for our country, such as food security, climate change, water management, mechanization of fruit crops and new technologies for the agriculture of the future,” said the President of the union, Cristian Pichuante.
