Last Wednesday, April 22, the first online seminar on cherry trees organized by Syngenta was held, with the participation of cherry expert Carlos Tapia, director of Avium and co-founder of SmartCherry, and consultant and researcher Héctor García from Diagnofruit Laboratories. The event was widely attended with more than 450 people connected simultaneously.
During the occasion, Carlos Tapia carried out an exhaustive productive analysis of the cherry season in our country, how the planted surface has grown and its projections over time. There was also a discussion about the experiences of the beginning of the dormancy stage in cherry trees and its importance in the productive and health potential of an orchard.
For his part, Héctor García was in charge of presenting new research and strategies for the control of rot and other diseases that affect the species.
The successful event brought together hundreds of people connected from different areas, and even from abroad, and ended with an interesting survey about what is happening worldwide today and in this way, to better face future challenges for cherries and agriculture in general.
