Several of the companies that are part of our supplier portal were present at the important event that brought together the agroindustry, either with a stand or as attendees.
The 7th Agrotrade Chile International Convention and Fair was held on October 26th. The event organized by Viveros de Chile (AGV) had the relevant participation of various agricultural companies, including several of our partners.
FMC and Viveros Copequén were present in the stands sector displaying their products and solutions for agriculture; both highlighted the importance of participating in Agrotrade.
“It is very important because here you meet people who represent a large part of the industry, the nurseries, and we have a lot to offer in that segment, so it is very important for us to be here to be able to stay in touch with them,” said Ignacio Díaz, Technical Zone Metropolitan Region and V of FMC, a company specialized in agricultural sciences, which provides innovative solutions to farmers around the world.
The event brought together important leaders and representatives of the agricultural sector, such as former Ministers of Agriculture María Emilia Undurraga and Carlos Furche, as well as the President of Fedefruta Jorge Valenzuela, and of course, the President of Viveros de Chile, Cristian Pichuante.
“We are a fairly large nursery in terms of cherry production, and we are also now focused on kiwi, apple trees and other species. As nurseries we are growing and this is an event that brings together many people, many producers, also associated with the exporter of Curto, who supports us, so for us it is super important to be here every year as we always do; so we invite you to continue participating in this event, because it is super important for the agricultural world,” said Maritza Espinoza, sales and after-sales manager at Viveros Copequén.
Agrotrade was held at the Sun Monticello Conference Center located in San Francisco de Mostazal, where several Smartcherry partners attended and participated as attendees.
“For us it is quite important because even though our strength is focused on adult fruit trees, a plant that is just starting to grow also needs protection and a special microclimate, so for us as a company it is important to be able to contribute with ideas and new technologies to nurseries,” said Javier Santibáñez, Agricultural Technical Manager of Agralia, a company specializing in technical agrotextiles.
Agrocompra, the first digital market for agricultural inputs in Chile, was also present through its General Manager Cristóbal Raineri: “This time we were there as attendees because we wanted to see how the industry was moving, very interested in everything that was said today in the banking sector, in how the future development is coming this season after two very difficult seasons and all the support that we want to offer to the different clients, suppliers and producers to facilitate the process of quotations and purchase of agricultural inputs, looking for a way that is more efficient and effective and that they have a more organized and easy control regarding the needs of purchases and all the requirements in the field.”
Nova Agro, a company dedicated to the marketing of organic and sustainable products for modern agriculture, spoke about its participation in this important event and highlighted the relevance of the topics discussed.
«The truth is that it has been a very interesting event, especially with the first talk or discussion on the national and international economy, issues of the rise of the dollar, inflation as well, so far it has been a very good convention; the relevance (of Agrotrade) is quite large, because it is an event that brings together nurserymen, technologies for nurseries and above all the issue of genetics, which is very lacking in Chile; importing, exporting genetics to be able to improve the quality of plants, which is very important to be able to make new trade agreements,» said Tomás Vial, Founder of Nova Agro.
Our partner Rivulis, leader in drip irrigation, also joined this important agricultural event.
“The truth is that due to the importance of the AGV and its relevance in the industry and, in addition, associated with what we do, which are irrigation solutions for new projects, we saw that it is super important to be here at Agrotrade and to be able to have interesting conversations with all the market members, with the nurserymen, with the end users of the plants and the truth is that we are very interested in being present with them and being able to work on the solutions that we can deliver to the market in terms of irrigation and technology,” said Nicolas George, Sales & Marketing Manager Chile, Rivulis Irrigation.
Finally, Vicente Reyes, Commercial Manager of Skyquest, a company that offers drone services for agriculture, topography and inspections, referred to his participation in the event: “The truth is that we are here because we want to know what the real pain is, so to speak, of farmers today in Chile, especially those linked to fruit growing, to see what products we can deliver to help them improve these types of problems and give them consistent information to solve them,” Reyes concluded.
The event represented a tremendous contribution to the agro-industry, both for companies and producers, who were able to meet around such relevant topics as the great challenges facing climate change, the global economic and logistics contingency, food security and other factors that affect agriculture.
