Smartcherry partners participated in the 17th World Symposium on Soil and Plants

Three of our partners were present at the recent International Symposium on Soil and Plants held in the Biobío region.

Aminochem, a Chilean company dedicated to the manufacture and marketing of amino acids, organic matter and oil for plant nutrition and biostimulation, reactivation of life in soils and crop protection, was part of the Symposium with a stand, where they presented their products.

«The importance of Aminochem's participation in this event is quite clear. This is a soil and plant symposium and one of the main challenges that we have set ourselves as an agricultural company is precisely to bring life back to the soil through the use of our products which, by the way, derive from a circular economy concept. We collect, process and make available a large part of the surpluses from the salmon industry in Chile, on the one hand, for animal and human feed on a global level, and as an agricultural subsidiary we produce amino acids, organic matter and oil for the fertilization and biostimulation of crops, so there is a very powerful environmental concept behind the business model that we have proposed.

Carlos Baier, Head of the Technical Department at Aminochem, added: «We were invited to participate in this Symposium for two reasons: one, because we are presenting a work done at the University of Entre Ríos in Argentina, among several works that we are doing in different parts of the world, so we came to the poster section to present that work as co-authors together with the researchers from the university and, on the other hand, also sponsoring the event to promote a little this new look that we are giving it, a more biological look, not necessarily only chemical, but rather biological.».

Compo Expert, a company that produces high-quality special fertilizers and biostimulants, was also present at the Symposium through a stand and talked about its participation in the international event.

«I think that participating in this type of event is a responsibility of both the company and the responsibility that we have as a civilization and humanly speaking to maintain and conserve the sources of resources, both soil, air and water, the whole concept of soil life and biological activity of soil, obviously should be the focus of all companies that are related to the field of producing fruit or fresh food; we believe that we should be responsible for working in that field, today agriculture is becoming an agriculture with a more regenerative concept, where integrated management of phytosanitary products together with biological products is included and, at the same time, sustaining everything that is the soil matrix. I think that the brain of the plant starts by maintaining a good root structure and that implies having good respiration, high biological activity, diversity of microorganisms at the soil level and from there obviously expressing all the productive potential that the plant has», explained Luis Flores, Deputy Commercial Manager of Compo Expert Chile.

Bioamérica, for its part, participated as an assistant at the World Symposium; they highlighted the relevance of the event and the contribution they make as a company to the care of soil and plants.

«For us, it is extremely important as a company to participate in these activities, in this international Symposium, obviously to connect with the people who work in this area, the different advisors and researchers, and to be up to date with the new things that are being done everywhere. Today, everything that has to do with soil management, having healthy soil, is very important, and the truth is that every day it is becoming more important to be aware of management, of the new tools, of the analyses that are done. We as a company have a line of biofertilizers, for example, we focus a lot on living, healthy soil, we also have other tools, obviously, such as humic acids, fertilizers, and it is always important to be aware of what is being done and thus work in line with the new agriculture.» concluded Fernanda Escobar, Metropolitan Region zonal in Bioamérica.

The 17th International Symposium on Plants and Soil was held between March 21 and 24 and was attended by national and international speakers, as well as attendees from different parts of the world.
