The month of August will end with a major event on the other side of the Andes: Cherry Day, the most important meeting of the Argentine cherry industry, which will take place on August 28 and 29 in Neuquén.
The event will bring together producers, exporters, and agricultural service and product companies, who will take part in the two days of Cherry Day. The first day includes technical talks by Argentine and Chilean advisors, including Juan Pujó and Tomás Lochbaum, and compatriots Jordi Casas and Valeria Lepe.
The event will also feature presentations by Gert Eastes, Cherry Ridge South Africa, on cherry production in the African country, and Peter Cornish, CEO of Fruit Grower Tasmania – Australia.
The first day will end with the panel made up of members of the Argentine Chamber of Integrated Cherry Producers, entitled "The role of CAPCI; present and future of the Argentine cherry sector"; the final block will be led by Mariano Tappata, general manager of PAI SA, and
will feature the following panelists: Diego Aguilar, president of the Mendoza Chamber of Cherries;
Viviana Bircher, Vice President of the Chamber of Cherry Producers of the Lower Valley of the Rio Grande
Chubut; Hernan De Bellis, CER Extraberries SA; Jorge Seguel, President of the Cooperative
Agrofutícola El Oasis Ltda; and Juan Carlos Schroeder, president of PINCÉN SA and CEO of the
Schroeder Group.

Field trip
During the day of August 29, attendees will be able to participate in an interesting field trip, which will end at noon and which will end Cherry Day 2024. During this event, the latest techniques and developments in cherry production will be presented, and there will be an opportunity for networking and outreach on what it means to produce cherries in Argentine Patagonia.
