July is almost over, the date that coincides with the end of the accumulation of cold hours, an essential factor for cherry orchards; therefore, and considering last year's decline and the associated problems, the question is obvious: Are we there or not?
This will be the question we will answer in the new episode of the second season of Reportajes on Smartcherry TV; together with advisors Carlos Tapia and Ricardo Miño, as well as agroclimatologist Patricio González and the voice of the producers, we will take stock of the accumulation of cold hours in the 2024-2025 season.
«In our aim to support cherry producers in the different stages and tasks, we are preparing a report on the balance of the accumulation of cold hours of the current season and the relevance of this factor to achieve the productive potential in cherry orchards; at the same time, to explain, with the help of specialists, how important it is to know this indicator, in order to compare with previous years and make decisions with the greatest amount of information possible», said Andrea Garrido, editorial director of Smartcherry.
The new episode will be broadcast next Thursday, August 1, at 9:30 p.m., on Smartcherry TV; the episode is sponsored by UPL, Chemie Agro, Corteva, with its product Fontelis, and Cogrowers.
