A new premiere of our successful Reports section on Smartcherry TV is coming up; next Thursday, May 2, at 9:30 p.m., a chapter will be broadcast that will address the beginning of dormancy, a very important stage in cherry orchards.
What should we be looking at in plants right now? This will be one of the big questions that specialists will answer in the new episode entitled “Winter is coming.”

The specialist advisors on cherry production, Carlos Tapia and Óscar Aliaga, as well as the technical coordinator of Avium, Bruno Tapia, will analyse in detail the beginning of the winter break for the orchards, through visits to the field and concrete examples.
«We visited different orchards in the Maule and O'Higgins regions, together with advisors and cherry producers, in order to see in situ the different scenarios that the plants showed at the end of April. In a very clear and didactic way, the specialists reviewed all the key aspects of this time of year and explained what to do in case the plants are not presenting a favorable scenario for going to rest,» explained Andrea Garrido, Editorial Director of Smartcherry.

Additionally, the agroclimatologist from the University of Talca, Patricio González, will discuss key aspects of the coming months and how and when the La Niña phenomenon will take hold.
The report is sponsored by Nordox from UPL, Chemie Agro, Greenhas, Cogrowers, Corteva and Agro World Spain.
