As the Chinese New Year approaches, which will be celebrated on February 10, and as larger volumes of Chilean cherries begin to arrive in China, Frutas de Chile, together with its Cherry Committee, are promoting more strongly the promotions to encourage the consumption of this rich and healthy national fruit.

“We are carrying out an intense agenda of activities and meetings in China. One of them was in the city of Qingdao, in northern China, a large city, where we launched our cherry campaign in the supermarket chain called JiaJiaYue, which has the impressive characteristic of serving around 1 million people a day. This is the first time that our cherries have reached this market,” said Iván Marambio, president of Frutas de Chile.
“We are very pleased with the reception our cherries have had in this city, but in general in China. As we approach the Chinese New Year celebrations, our actions are intensified in order to promote the consumption of the larger volumes of cherries that arrive each week,” added Claudia Soler, executive director of the Chilean Fruit Cherry Committee.
It is worth noting that last weekend, Charif Christian Carvajal, marketing director for Asia and Europe, was in Kunming (Yunnan), where he met with representatives of fruit specialist stores in the region and the wholesale market. “It was a very important visit, as it allows us to strengthen ties with those who buy our fruit, but more importantly, to find out where we can continue to improve,” Carvajal said.
