AgroRecicla, developed by IMPPA AG, is an innovative voluntary collection program for empty plastic containers used in phytosanitary products, foliar fertilizers and biostimulants in the agricultural sector. This program, supported by the trade association made up of eight committed companies, seeks to promote environmental awareness, promote recycling in agriculture and the circular economy.
The program covers the fifth to the seventh region, and the containers are collected directly from the field, meeting five specific requirements for acceptance: the containers must be triple-washed inside and washed outside, without the lid, perforated and without the metal seal on the neck, the containers must be palletized and/or in maxi bags.
Picking up containers at AgroRecicla is free of charge, providing farmers and participants with a smooth operation, saving time and money. There is no limit to the number of containers that can be requested for pickup.
In its first year of operation, the program managed to recycle approximately 56 tons of
plastic.
As this initiative spreads, we are contributing to the environment and promoting the circular economy by effectively recycling the collected plastic, avoiding its disposal in landfills.
To access the program, producers and farmers can formalize their requests for the removal of packaging through the website www.agrorecicla.cl. This platform provides a simple and convenient way to participate in AgroRecicla, as well as to obtain the certificate.
For his part, Rodrigo Maldonado, recently appointed as the person in charge of the AgroRecicla Program for the seventh region, said: “I took on this challenge because I believe that it is giving back certain responsibilities to agriculture. There is a lot of plastic floating around and it needs to be collected, recycled and finally reused. I really think that it is a good opportunity and I have the challenge of increasing the participation of this project in the seventh region, with the same good success that it has had for a year now,” Maldonado emphasized.
