-In fruit growing, flowers are the main reproductive organ of plants. This means that it is from them that the fruits are later formed. Therefore, taking care of flowering is essential to ensure good fruit set. The more viable flowers a plant has, the more likely it is to have more fruit on the tree.
What threats exist during this stage in an orchard?
-There are endless problems at this stage of a crop. Some are diseases such as blossom blight, caused by pseudomonas or botrytis, to climatic conditions that do not favour the correct pollination of the flower and subsequent formation of the fruit. These conditions may be rain, high relative humidity or excessive wind.
What does Tavan recommend doing and why?
-Our recommendation is to apply RipStop, a biological product designed to pulse-suppress the generation of ethylene by plants, and especially flowers that are facing biotic or abiotic stress at this time, thereby extending the useful life of the flower.
How is Tavan treatment different for this stage?
