Greenhas Chile is developing a series of talks in which prominent advisors from the cherry industry will participate, such as Walter Masman, Jordi Casas, Patricio Morales and Carlos Tapia. This initiative is aimed at agricultural producers, with the aim of sharing knowledge and strategies to optimize production. Within the framework of these talks, the company has done so accompanied by its solution, Siberio, a biostimulant that has positioned itself in the Chilean agricultural market for more than a decade.
Rodrigo Aranda, metropolitan area north of Greenhas Chile, highlighted the characteristics and benefits of this product: “Siberio is a product with Italian registration, for this reason, its raw materials give the assurance that its objectives will be met. That is why the Greenhas brand ensures quality in its raw materials. Siberio is a product that, in addition to ensuring the homogeneity of flowers, fruits and fruit set, also ensures caliber, because the relationship that is generated in terms of fruit set and flower, by having more foliage, the fruit will have a larger caliber, which makes it a highly recommendable product. In addition, it is the only homogenizer in Chile that comes with a seal and certification under European standards.”

Along the same lines, Eduardo Parra, technical manager of Greenhas Chile, stressed the importance of weather conditions and how Siberio can influence them: “We have to see how winter behaves, since the forecasts say that we are going to have a very good accumulation of cold, so it is important that producers check the reserve content in the orchards, prior to flowering and from there we will see how spring will go. If we were to lack one of these two factors, reserves or cold, flowering will be uneven and from there, tools like Siberio will allow us to homogenize flowering and therefore, this will improve the sizes and also a super important tool that this product gives us, which is to advance the leaf to start with an early photosynthesis to be able to sustain the setting and initial states at a time when the roots are not yet active. Siberio is basically a product that brings useful benefits.”
For his part, Diego Fuentes, manager of Agrícola Santa Emilia, expressed his appreciation for the talks organized by Greenhas Chile: “This meeting organized by Greenhas allows us to put into perspective what happened last season and also to be able to define strategies for the next season, just now that we are in time to make modifications, for example, to cyanamide applications, or in conjunction with the product that they presented to us, which basically go along the same lines of breaking dormancy, always taking into account how winter is progressing and what the beginning of spring should be. Taking that into account, it allows us to define strategies for how we will finally end up using these dormancy breakers. Therefore, I believe that these events are a great contribution for all farmers in general, which basically allows us to define the commercial success that we are playing for in the cherry harvest.”

Finally, Walter Masman, a specialist advisor on stone fruits and cherries and a speaker at the first day of talks, highlighted the relevance of the current winter conditions: “This is probably one of the top years in terms of cold accumulation at the end of May. Personally, I think that the early accumulation of cold is very decisive, since it sets a pattern in terms of the quality of dormancy by the buds, largely reaching the reserve content by the buds, which in turn implies a better quality of flowering. It is very likely that this trend during the months of June and July will continue to rise, so this will probably be the best year of cold accumulation in the last 15 years. Based on this, the behavior of the trees becomes very homogeneous in terms of flowering, since the years of good cold accumulation denote a significant increase in production. That is why we must be very attentive to this process.”
Greenhas Chile, with its commitment to providing innovative and effective solutions, continues to strengthen its presence in the agricultural sector with high-quality products such as Siberio and activities that promote the exchange of knowledge between producers, advisors and industry agents.
