International Fruit Expo: New business opportunities after pandemic restrictions

Major exporters from Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Chile, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Peru and other major countries targeting the Chinese market after the pandemic will attend the international fruit exhibition in Guangzhou, China from September 1 to 3, 2023 to discuss and cooperate with domestic partners.

Two major industry organizations in China will jointly host the 2023 International Fruit Expo, the China Chamber of Import and Export of Foodstuffs and Native Animals, which is the largest industry association in the field of import and export of food and agricultural products in the country, and the China Fruit Circulation Association, which focuses on domestic fruit cultivation and circulation in domestic markets.

The exhibition area of the 2023 International Fruit Expo will reach more than 23,000 square meters, attracting more than 200 enterprises to participate in the exhibition, and about 15,000 professional visitors are expected to cover the entire fruit industry chain.

This second expo has added several regional pavilions and important fruit producing areas such as Gansu, Shaanxi, Yunnan, Guangxi, Hainan and Xinjiang have joined hands with the Department of Commerce and local fruit industry associations to organize a high-quality fruit exhibition in various regions to help local fruits connect with more buyer channels.

Foreign Exporters Pavilion

At the same time, major exporters from Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Chile, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Peru and other major origins targeting the Chinese market will attend after Covid time to discuss and cooperate with domestic partners at the international fruit exhibition.

In Chile, for example, 100-150 importers and exporters of Chilean fruits will have a pavilion under the Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile (ASOEX) to connect with national buyers.

Guangzhou was selected as the venue for the 2nd International Fruit Expo. As the cradle of the fruit import industry in mainland China, Guangzhou plays a vital role in the circulation of fruits in China. The Canton Fair Complex has a series of modern exhibition facilities and professional services to provide exhibitors and visitors with a first-class exhibition and visiting experience.

Business opportunities and activities

At the initial stage of the exhibition, the organizer will invite more than 15,000 professional buyers from supermarket and chain stores, e-commerce, wholesale traders, hotel catering services and retail. At the exhibition venue, business meetings between specific buyers and prominent exhibitors will be organized to negotiate procurement.

The 7th China International Fruit Conference will be held the day before the 2023 International Fruit Expo. The conference will invite more than 500 people, including officials from more than ten major exporting countries such as Chile, Thailand, Australia, Peru and New Zealand, foreign fruit companies with investments in China, domestic leading enterprises, domestic and foreign fruit associations and exhibitors of the fruit exposition, to closely follow the development proposition of the fruit industry and discuss new trends of the industry.

Other thematic activities to be held during the International Fruit Expo include: welcome reception, special promotion meeting for guest of honor, customs quarantine policy exchange meeting, cross-border land transportation exchange meeting, China-ASEAN Fruit Industry Cooperation Summit, China-Chile Fruit Industry Cooperation Summit, fruit import and export business matchmaking meeting, new brand and new technology conference, China Fruit Retailers Conference, high-quality fruit promotion meeting in local pavilions, high-quality agricultural product promotion, special session on imported fruits, fruit and vegetable packaging exhibition, and thematic mini-forums.
