The Agrotrade Perú 2023 event, held at the prestigious Belmond Miraflores Hotel in Lima, has exceeded all expectations by bringing together a large audience, more than 120 people interested in the agricultural market. With the main focus on cherry cultivation, the event had the outstanding participation of Chilean experts Alberto Cortés and María Paz Rosés, as far as this panel is concerned, in addition to the presence of Gerd Burmester, partner and director of the company Inversiones Vecs.

Maritrini Lapuente, executive director of the Chilean Nursery Association, expressed her satisfaction with the large turnout of the public at the event. “We were a little afraid that the public would not confirm their participation, since in Peru they sometimes have a hard time making that decision. But in the end, all the personalities and authorities that we expected attended, and we are very happy about that,” she said. Lapuente highlighted that the morning discussions focused on the context of Peruvian agricultural exports, growth opportunities and how to face the challenges of climate change in fruit production.
The central theme of the talks revolved around the incorporation of new varieties in crops such as cherries, grapevines and blueberries, which sparked particular interest among the participants. Although the date of the next Agrotrade in Peru has not yet been set, Lapuente announced that they will be in touch soon to continue addressing these relevant issues and explore the vast potential for collaboration.
María Paz Rosés, technical advisor for the company Agrointegral, shared her enthusiasm for the organization of the event and her participation in the cherry panel.
“I would like to congratulate the girls from AGV for organising this event, which was very well organised and had many attendees. I am happy to be supporting them and to have participated in the cherry panel, with everything I have learnt, working in this crop in areas where it is produced early,” said Rosés.

Ricardo Bosnić, Minister Counselor of the Chilean Embassy in Lima, highlighted the importance of these events to promote trade relations between Chile and Peru. "These meetings are extremely relevant because they are a space for conversation where common solutions to problems that afflict us are also shared," said Bosnić.

Lorena Sánchez, commercial director of ProChile in Peru, highlighted the opportunity that Agrotrade 2023 provides for Peruvian companies to learn about the latest developments in fruit cultivation, especially blueberries and cherries. "We believe that this is an unmissable opportunity for Peruvian companies, given the potential of Peruvian agriculture and the information offered by Chile, specifically on the subject of cherries," Sánchez emphasized.
The Agrotrade Perú 2023 event has proven to be an invaluable space for the exchange of knowledge and business opportunities in the agricultural sector, strengthening ties between Chile and Peru and promoting diversification and sustainable growth in agricultural production in the region.
