The world of agriculture and food processing will come together through technology and innovation in a unique space. It is estimated that there will be around 300 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors at the fair, which will be held for the first time at the Metropolitan Santiago Events Center.
The main players in the global agri-food industry will meet in Santiago de Chile between October 24 and 26 to participate in the First International Congress and Fair of Innovation and Technologies in Agri-Food, CFIAgrotech 2023.
The meeting is organized by FISA and GL Events in conjunction with the National Society of Agriculture (SNA), the main association that brings together producers and federations linked to agriculture and agroindustry in the country. The event will bring together the Chilean agri-food industry with national and foreign actors in one place for the promotion, marketing, relationship building and strengthening of the agri-food sector in the country and throughout its chain.
The objectives of CFIAgrotech The aim is to strengthen Chile as an agro-food power; to showcase the achievements and local production capacity; to contribute to attracting new sources of financing and national and international actors; to introduce new technology, knowledge and actors to the market; to exchange experiences and knowledge at a time of high demand for healthy ingredients and foods; in addition to rescuing and bringing to the country the experience and network of contacts of CFIA France and Agrobofoods Europe.
Paula Miranda Campos, Manager of CfiAgrotech, explains that the initiative will bring together around 300 exhibitors of innovation, technologies, supplies and services for agricultural, livestock and food processing industry sustainability. The fair, which will have indoor and outdoor exhibition areas, will be held at the Metropolitan Santiago, nominated as the “Best Meetings and Conference Centre in South America” at the World Travel Awards (WTA).
“At this event we want to achieve a positive match between supply and demand in the agri-food industry, while also providing space for all the technological innovation that is revolutionising the sector, both in our country and worldwide. We are convinced that interesting opportunities will arise for the generation of new businesses and the exchange of valuable experiences and learnings.”, he highlights.

“The strong innovation component is one of the most relevant characteristics of the First International Congress and Fair on Innovation and Technologies in Agrifood, CFIAgrotech. For example, at the Congress we will have speakers related to robotics, Artificial Intelligence and digitalization, among other subjects, where we will be able to learn about the main global trends.”
Regarding the fair, the executive explains that it will be divided into three areas: Sustainable Agricultural Production, Sustainable Animal Production and Food ProcessingThe first two are focused on sustainable agricultural and livestock production, respectively, where technologies and innovation in agricultural and livestock production, traceability, and data science and IoT; ecological footprint and circularity; productive efficiency; health, prevention and control of diseases and pests; certifications and green financing.
The third pavilion will be dedicated to food processing and value addition. Exhibitors will present products and services in areas such as sustainable ingredients and raw materials; packaging and storage technologies; packaging; labelling and trends; food safety and quality; food processing and transformation technologies; and biotechnologies, biomaterials and new food matrices.
“The hallmark of this fair is in the innovation and technology for sustainability of a traditional industry, but one that is constantly being renewed. It is an event that represents all the sectors that seek to build, invest, improve, modernize and optimize production in the agro-food and agro-technology sector, in order to achieve the sustainability of the agro-food industry.”, explains Paula Miranda. “All this makes the fair very attractive for exhibitors to come and present and market their solutions based on innovation and technology, where startups and technological SMEs have a special space for dynamization”, he adds.
As for the visiting public, he maintains that they are targeting a very diverse one, ranging from professionals and representatives of companies from the entire agri-food value chain, national and foreign, to entrepreneurs and startups, as well as students and teachers from courses in the area, together with authorities and leaders of trade organizations in the sector.
