In 2022, Asia Fruit Logistica returned to its in-person format, but it had to be held in Bangkok due to the “Covid-Zero” measures imposed in China. Therefore, the 2023 edition marked a milestone not only because it returned 100% to normal in-person and with a large international presence, but also to Hong Kong, where the event was traditionally held. Chilean fruits were present once again, showing the best of their export offer and great optimism regarding this new 2023-2024 export season.

According to Iván Marambio, president of ASOEX, the participation of “Fruits from Chile” in this event is key, “Especially because the Asian market positioned itself last season 2022-2023 as the first destination for our fresh fruit shipments, reaching 724,829 tons, and a share of 31.51 TP3T in our total shipments. Within Asia, China is our main market, and the second destination country globally, concentrating 251 TP3T of the total volumes of our fresh fruit shipped to the world, led by cherries.”
He added: “This season, more than ever, our country is focused on enhancing the quality and sustainability of our fruits and shipments, and that is what we have come to show at this important Asian fair, together with our committees for blueberries, cherries, citrus, kiwis, and table grapes. In addition, there are 140 fruit exporting companies that are accompanying us, seeking to strengthen ties and expand their businesses, which also marks a milestone in the history of the sector's participation in this fair, and shows the great interest that exists in increasing our shipments in Asian markets. In short, we are returning to Hong Kong after almost 3 years, with a larger presence and with an optimistic view on the development of our shipments for this new 2023-2034 season.”
