The fruit and vegetable industry trade fair, which will take place on 22 September, will focus on this year's highlights: How to balance the game between domestic production and imports of fruit and vegetables?
According to data from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the world's five largest vegetable exporters are China, Mexico, Spain, the Netherlands and
Italy. China's vegetable exports account for around 141%3T of global vegetable exports.
The rapid growth of imports has also had a positive impact on national fruit production, generating healthy competition in terms of varieties, packaging and marketing. This situation has created competitive pressure on imported fruit, leading to a price war between national and imported products, which did not occur in the past.
This will be a fundamental part of the exhibition for the fruit and vegetable industry, within the framework of ASIA FRESH 2023; there, on September 22, the task of balancing the game between national production and the import of fruits and vegetables will be analyzed, among other topics in this regard.
The event
Representatives from many countries and customs experts will meet to discuss fruit-related issues, from incoming fruit inspection and quarantine, to quality and safety certification, as well as fresh fruit from the EU, Australian avocados, cherries, among others.
