How have you seen the season this year?
“Throughout this year’s season, the price of cherries has remained relatively stable, with prices in the early part of the season falling faster than in previous years, to a certain extent promoting early season cherry sales. The end of the pandemic is very good news for cherries. With only a 20-30% decline after the Chinese New Year, we believe we will see a quiet market for cherries this year.”
What has been the impact of lifting Covid-19 restrictions?
"I don't see a big effect, beyond the impact on vulnerable older people."
What are you looking forward to this Spring Festival in terms of cherry sales?
«For wholesale markets, we assume that demand in the primary market will start to decline after the 17th, this season will be slow due to logistics and people returning to their hometowns earlier. For secondary and tertiary markets the situation will remain good, especially during the last 3 days before the new year. After the celebrations, as long as the quality is good, we believe that cherry sales will be smooth due to lower volume.» "For the retail sector, the big sales will now be until the New Year, after which sales will fall, but demand will still be there. The demand for quality will continue after the New Year holidays," concluded Luna Yao, Import Manager of the Sun Virtue importer.
