Successful technical tour of the Vitazyme and Syngenta team in Chile

The Vitazyme development team, together with Syngenta Chile, carried out a technical tour through various regions of the country, focused on promoting and reinforcing the benefits of Vitazyme, a biostimulant and foliar fertilizer that has been part of Syngenta's portfolio for the last decade.

Raúl Méndez, Syngenta's zonal agroAmigo for Region VII, expressed his satisfaction with the results of the tour: "We are on a tour focused on the Vitazyme product, together with the delegation that owns this product, where we were reinforcing the benefits that this solution brings, mainly in cherry cultivation. We met with clients and advisors to talk about the versatility of Vitazyme, since there is limited experience in the color acquisition of the crop, but in recent years studies have been carried out that support that this solution can be used in different stages of the crop's phenology, mainly in yield and quality parameters, which as exporters, is what we look for in the fruit."

Dr. Paul Syltie, a soil and crop scientist and researcher, and global technical manager for Vitazyme, also shared his impressions: “I think it has been very productive, we have been able to see various aspects of Chilean agriculture, particularly avocados and cherries, and I am very happy to see the management systems that are unique and that we simply do not have anywhere else in the world. I am impressed, it is different from the United States and other countries, so I am very happy to be part of the tour to experience this. It has been a real eye-opener for me.”

Syltie highlighted the level of knowledge of the local advisors: “Regarding the advisors I met, they were very knowledgeable, they asked very insightful questions, very good ones. I haven’t gotten to know many of them very closely, but I’m very happy to have met some of them. I’m impressed by how the advisors are encouraging life in the soil, like compost on cherries, I think it’s an excellent practice, so I think their level of knowledge is very good. I have no criticism, only praise for the people here, the advisors and what they advise the farmers.”

In terms of application recommendations, Dr. Syltie noted, “We generally want growers to apply Vitazyme from the beginning of flowering for fruit crops and then periodically during the production phase and also after that, during the tree recovery phase, for the next crop. So, for crops, that’s the way we recommend it. Same with grapes, starting at flowering and moving through the production cycle, and then after the grapes are harvested, not forgetting to supplement the crop with Vitazyme for the next year. Each crop needs to be evaluated on its own and we believe that Chilean growers are going to do just that, they’re going to look for the best possible program for their soils and the management systems they have in place.”

Michael Hudak, Vice President of Plant Designs, also commented on the significance of this collaboration: “We are delighted to partner with Syngenta, which is the largest agrochemical company in the world and brings an immense wealth of marketing knowledge and technical acumen to tailor their products to the solutions farmers need for their crops, so we believe it is a perfect fit. We are very excited to work with such a reputable company and continue to grow in that vein.”

Nicolás Miranda, member of the Syngenta team and developer of Vitazyme Market and Raúl Méndez, Syngenta AGROamigo zonal for Region VII.

Finally, Nicolás Miranda, a member of the Syngenta team and developer of Mercado Vitazyme, shared his experience regarding the technical tour: “Having participated in this tour so far has been very good, since we have been able to see in situ how producers and advisors have worked with Vitazyme, in addition to seeing its results in different crops, in avocado, citrus and cherry trees. It has been a good feedback, both from clients and advisors and also from those of us involved in the distribution of Vitazyme.”

This technical tour has allowed Syngenta and the developers of Vitazyme to strengthen their presence in the Chilean market, sharing valuable knowledge and experiences to improve the quality and yield of crops in the country.
