HappyAgro's FirmPro Portable: the only product on the market that allows you to measure caliber, firmness and weight in the field

Thanks to HappyAgro's new product, fruit measurements can now be taken in the field, without the need for a wired connection, with the same precision as the laboratory FirmPro.

The FirmPro Portable is one of the latest products launched by HappyAgro and promises the same precision as the laboratory FirmPro. This system for measuring firmness, size and weight of fruit consists of a lithium battery, which allows it to be used comfortably in the field. It is connected to the notebook via Bluetooth technology, which makes it easy to transport and operate, since it works without cables.

Unlike the laboratory FirmPro, the portable version not only provides firmness and size classification analyzed by counting fruits, but also concludes according to the weight contribution of each fruit; fruits with a larger size weigh more than fruits with smaller labels. The following case exemplifies this type of analysis:

  • Let’s imagine a sample of 20 fruits, 10 fruits are labeled “L” and weigh 10g in total. The remaining 10 fruits are labeled “4J” and weigh 40g. If we analyze the distribution by count, the labels “L” and “4J” are equal, but by weight, 20% of the sample is “L” and 80% is “4J”.

According to HappyAgro CEO and founder Robinson Gálvez, “FirmPro Portable was designed to be a complete solution, which includes everything necessary to use the equipment from the moment it is received, freeing the user from unnecessary technical complications. The data is output in an Excel spreadsheet, but it can also be connected to other pre-existing computer systems of the client.”

This product has been highly valued by those who use it, as it can be used in the field and in process lines, optimizing production times and providing greater flexibility.

The graphical interface and data output of the portable equipment is the same as that of the laboratory FirmPro, which facilitates operation for those already familiar with the use of the software.

Along these lines, Robinson notes that the fruit industry is already familiar with the operation of FirmPro and has been acquiring the portable version for consulting, since they can be in the place they need to verify the fruit, whether it is cherries, blueberries or grapes. In addition, they can place it in any space, because it is small in size, they practically use it as a validator that the process, in any of its instances, is working correctly.
