The cherry-specialized site has more than 48 thousand users and 150 thousand visits so far in 2021; in the two years of existence, the figures exceed 83 thousand and 332 thousand, respectively.
Smartcherry, a platform specialising in technical and quality information on cherry cultivation, celebrates a new anniversary, and does so in collaboration with more than 50 agro-industry suppliers who have placed their trust in the renowned platform. All of them make up a robust supplier portal that offers products and solutions for the world of cherries, and which covers plant nutrition, covers, exporters, laboratories, irrigation, post-harvest, marketplace, precision agriculture, phytosanitary products, among others.
With various sections, including technical articles, news, podcasts, infographics, videos, among others, Smartcherry has managed to position itself as the specialized cherry site with the largest number of sponsors, in addition to the large audience it has each month. So far this year alone, the platform has 48,276 users, 79,783 sessions and 151,062 page views.
“During these two years we have been a tremendous contribution to the world of cherries. We have managed to position ourselves as a specialized platform by doing outreach, delivering technical content of the highest quality, addressing the various topics of the sector. We have excellent partners who have supported us from day one and who today number more than 50, and that makes us very happy. We are supported by the numbers, which is no minor issue, but that is a true reflection of the constant, professional and committed work of the entire Smartcherry team.” said Carlos Tapia, Cherry Production Specialist and Co-founder of Smartcherry.
This year, the platform has launched new sections, such as the podcast channel “Smartcherry Interview”, which joins “Smartcherry Podcast” and the spaces of the suppliers who have used this channel to communicate their news for the cherry world.
In turn, in 2021 the first “Smartcherry Open” discussion cycle was held, which had four sessions, prominent panelists, with more than a thousand people connected from Chile and abroad, and whose host was the cherry production specialist and Technical Director of Avium, Carlos Tapia.
“Smartcherry Open was a tremendous success, not only because of the number of people connected to each session, which left us very satisfied, but also because we addressed, together with specialists Jordi Casas, Valeria Lepe, Héctor García and Karina Buzzetti, current and technical issues, often complex topics, but in a simple, relaxed way, and that was very popular. When you manage to simplify the complex, talk about it, share opinions with the attendees and the panelists, this translates into an enormous contribution to the industry,” Tapia pointed out.
Another of the great successes of 2021 is the phenological report prepared by the Avium technical team that Smartcherry makes available for free download week after week. This new section is added to the acclaimed report on the evolution and comparison of the accumulation of cold hours that, for the second consecutive year, was present on the platform during the winter months.
“Last year and this year have been years of great challenges, working in the middle of a pandemic of course creates complications and limitations, but for Smartcherry there are no barriers; we have quickly adapted to this new modality, always with the focus on delivering quality content, in a timely manner, doing things well. We have grown in all areas, from the number of users, visits, our social networks that have a lot of interaction and that motivates us even more; on the other hand, there are our partners who have also grown in number, in fact three other companies have just joined that will soon be on our supplier portal,” explained Jorge Tello, Co-founder of Smartcherry.
Looking ahead to 2022, the Smartcherry team is working on a series of new features that will be announced soon.
“This second anniversary encourages us to continue improving and growing; very soon we will have great news to tell you about our platform and some projects that have us very motivated. We want to continue being a contribution to the national and international cherry industry,” concluded Jorge Tello, co-founder of the platform.
