En los tiempos que corren, el desarrollo del agro se acompa\u00f1a al detalle en diversas dimensiones. Desde escaneos satelitales hasta productos para proteger los cultivos, pasando por los drones, todos aportan para el objetivo final: que el fruto de la cosecha sea cada vez de mayor calidad y m\u00e1s sano.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hist\u00f3ricamente, la agricultura ha estado asociada al suelo, a las ra\u00edces que crecen por debajo y a las plantas que se desarrollan por encima de \u00e9l, con los frutos correspondientes. Sin embargo, en los tiempos que corren, iniciando un nuevo a\u00f1o, se ha extrapolado a otras escalas espaciales, no s\u00f3lo a la a\u00e9rea, sino incluso a la satelital, generando una industria global.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En la actualidad, es posible realizar un monitoreo detallado de la canopia, es decir, del conjunto verde de la planta, lo que en los \u00e1rboles se denomina \u201ccopa\u201d, a trav\u00e9s de im\u00e1genes satelitales. Desde el espacio exterior, por ejemplo, se pueden determinar \u00edndices de vegetaci\u00f3n a partir de p\u00edxeles para medir la reflectancia a la luz solar, aspecto fundamental para evaluar la salud y el estado fisiol\u00f3gico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Varios kil\u00f3metros m\u00e1s abajo que los sat\u00e9lites, hay otros objetos voladores que ya forman parte del paisaje habitual: los drones agr\u00edcolas. Actualmente, hay cerca de 250.000 de estas m\u00e1quinas pulverizadoras a nivel mundial, mientras que en los cielos chilenos se estima que hay m\u00e1s de 500 unidades operando, las cuales se utilizan para optimizar la aplicaci\u00f3n de productos, para mapear terrenos y tambi\u00e9n para transportar cargas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ya sobre la tierra misma, las plantaciones se cuidan desde antes de la siembra hasta despu\u00e9s de la cosecha, mediante diversos m\u00e9todos fertilizantes. Ante la disminuci\u00f3n de tierras para el agro, toma cada vez m\u00e1s fuerza el concepto de \u201cagricultura regenerativa\u201d, impulsada por la necesidad de mejorar la salud de \u00e9stas y la sostenibilidad del rubro, dejando obsoleta la labor puramente \u201cextractiva\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En este mismo sentido, ya es un imperativo conocer los suelos para la toma de decisiones informada, la optimizaci\u00f3n de recursos, el ahorro de costos y la maximizaci\u00f3n de la rentabilidad de cada hect\u00e1rea. Para ello, el escaneo topogr\u00e1fico es una herramienta esencial, pues permite identificar, entre otras cosas, las mejores \u00e1reas plantables para cada fruto que se pretende cosechar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Por \u00faltimo, en el subsuelo, ya existen \u201cmicroorganismos entrenados\u201d para que se conecten con la ra\u00edz y le entreguen los elementos necesarios para desarrollarse. Luego, es factible hacer un seguimiento al detalle del crecimiento de la plantaci\u00f3n para que, en el transcurso de su evoluci\u00f3n, se protejan los cultivos con los fitosanitarios que correspondan: insecticidas, herbicidas, fungicidas, bactericidas, acaricidas y\/o molusquicidas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHoy, el mundo agr\u00edcola se desarrolla en m\u00faltiples dimensiones, desde un sat\u00e9lite hasta un microorganismo, y todas aportan para que el alimento que llega a las personas sea cada vez m\u00e1s sano, seguro y de mayor calidad\u201d, explica Mart\u00edn Merino, presidente  de Summit Agro Chile, filial del grupo japon\u00e9s Sumitomo Corporation. \u201cPor eso, nuestro rol como compa\u00f1\u00eda ha evolucionado: ya no se trata s\u00f3lo de ofrecer productos, sino tambi\u00e9n de integrar tecnolog\u00eda, datos, servicios y acompa\u00f1amiento t\u00e9cnico para entregar soluciones completas al agricultor\u201d, agrega.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
